Ross Mahowald, DVM

Dr. Ross graduated from Ohio State University in 1994 and founded My Neighborhood Vet after 25 years in practice in Ohio and Chicago. His primary medical interests include feline and canine medicine, dentistry, cardiology, internal medicine, ultrasound, and laser surgery. His favorite thing about My Neighborhood Vet is his amazing staff!

When not seeing patients at our office, he can be found spending time with his husband Joel, his Bernese Mountain Dog, “Buckingham” and his Cardigan Welsh Corgi, “Solo”. He also enjoys movies, sci-fi (a real Trek nerd!), riding his bicycle to and from work or for a longer ride to Indiana or Wisconsin, working on his house and yard, and traveling the US and World.

Dr. Ross currently serves as a Board Member Emeritus at Tree House Humane Society and is always looking to contribute to My Neighborhood Vet’s community. He also serves as a Director on the FelineVMA board since September. He enjoys participating in fundraising, bike rides, and supporting the many rescue groups and other non-profit organizations in our community through fundraising and veterinary service. He also enjoys public speaking and answering questions about veterinary medicine for all age ranges. Contact him today if you are interested in having him speak to your organization
